The “French+Sciences” programme developed by Campus France in cooperation with centres of French as Foreign Language (FLE in French), the diplomatic posts and the Campus France Offices, are a new way of attracting international students.
Introduction to the French+Gastronomy program
In the heart of Rouen, the first French city to be designated a "City of Gastronomy" by UNESCO, Campus France has teamed up with FAUCHON School and the French as a Foreign Language (FLE) center French in Normandy to offer a 3-week program combining French lessons, cultural discoveries and exciting workshops in the hotel and restaurant industry. Gastronomy workshops and cultural activities are conducted in English. In this program, you will discover the techniques of top chefs as well as meet producers and gastronomy professionals, all while learning the French language.
Promoted through the network of diplomatic posts and Campus France offices, French+Gastronomy has been designed for English-speaking international students who may be complete beginners in French: only a B2 level in English is required.
The partnership between Campus France, FAUCHON School and French in Normandy combines the best of French gastronomy with the reputation of a Qualité FLE-certified school. Moreover, the city of Rouen adds an exceptional touch to this program, thanks to the wealth of cultural activities offered by the Metropolis and the Region.
As the birthplace of Impressionism, Rouen is one of the French cities with the most historic monuments per square meter, offering students an authentic destination rich in discoveries.
At FAUCHON School, students will discover the professions of top chefs, pastry chefs, chocolatiers, etc. They will meet cheese producers, truck farmers, fishmongers, sommeliers, etc. They will also have the opportunity to discover the hospitality industry by visiting prestigious establishments. These enriching meetings and experiences will be of interest both to those seeking to better prepare for a professional career in this sector and to those keen to discover this fascinating field. At the same time, students will be learning French - or perfecting their skills - thanks to courses taught by the FRENCH IN NORMANDY center, which will also enable them to discover French culture.
Organization of sessions
The French+Gastronomy program is an original combination of French language teaching and modules taught in English.
Activities taught entirely in English
The "gastronomy" module, offered in the afternoon, includes practical workshops (cooking, pastry-making, etc.); meetings with cheese producers, truck farmers, fishmongers, sommeliers, etc.; and visits to prestigious establishments in the hospitality sector.
The weekend cultural activities module includes a program of cultural visits to discover the attractions of Rouen and Normandy.
Activities in French

The session earns ECTS credits.
