Training courses in management, finance, and business: the QS ranking confirms the good place of France

The QS ranking 2023 of best training courses in the world in management, finance and business published on 29 September 2022, confirms the leading place of France in these fields. Regardless of the training courses under consideration, MBA, Masters in Management or Masters in Marketing among others, major French business schools are present at the highest level of the ranking.

The ranking from QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), British agency specialised in higher education, has just confirmed the Financial Times ranking recently published, that has put France in leading position in terms of training courses in management.

MBAs (Master of Business Administration)

The Global Full-Time MBA evaluation ranks the 300 most prestigious MBA offers in the world. Among them, QS highlighted 11 French “full-time” MBA courses, including two in the Top 10: HEC (4th world position, 1st European position) and INSEAD (9th position).

These two schools are followed by ESSEC (28th), EDHEC (45th), ESCP (48th), emlyon Business School (55th) and Grenoble Ecole de Management (98th) that make up the Top 100. And the list continues as follow: Audencia, IESEG, Ecole de Management Léonard de Vinci (EMLV) and ISC Paris.

Masters in Management

The Top 10 of this ranking is also lead by French “grandes écoles”, since in first and second positions are HEC and ESSEC to lead the ranking. They are follwoed by: INSEAD, ESCP Business School, CEMS (alliance d’écoles de gestion), emlyon Business School, EDHEC Business School, SKEMA Business School, Grenoble Ecole de Management and KEDGE Business School.

Masters in Marketing

And it’s in the worldwide Top 10 of Masters in Marketing that French schools are the most represented. Indeed, France has an exceptional offer for this type of training course. Six of the ten best master courses in the world are French: HEC (in 1st position), ESSEC (2nd), ESCP Business School (4th), emlyon Business School (7th), SKEMA BS (8th) and EDHEC (9th) form the leading group in this category.

Since 2018, the QS ranking assesses the results of about 500 programmes in about 40 countries to rank the best training courses in business. To determine the ranking, QS relies on a few main indicators, such as the academic reputation, the teachers/students ratio, the quality of research, the employability when finishing a training course, the career of alumni, the diversity of students and teachers (international students ratio and international teachers ratio).
