You also must be insured for medical expenses and risks in relation with civil liability (if you break something) and workplace accident. Each doctoral school sets a minimum amount for financing the PhD student should have to be able to register; this amount is generally about 1,000 to 1,400€/month. If your scholarship is inferior, then your host laboratory should pay a supplement (i. e. if your scholarship totals 900€ and the amount requested by your doctoral school is 1,200€, your host lab must pay you a contribution of 300€).
