New conditions to request accommodation in CROUS residences

International students who will come to France for their studies in the academic year 2020/2021 will have the opportunity to file an accommodation request for CROUS housing from July 9 on the platform trouverunlogement.lescrous.fr. They are not included in the first placement wave reserved for student having completed a social student file.

Accommodation renewal in CROUS residences

International students already in CROUS residences who want to keep their accommodation for the next academic year can apply for renewal at https://messervices.etudiant.gouv.fr, depending on the schedule provided by their residence.

CROUS university residences

CROUS residences are public and subsidised by the French government. It’s the most popular accommodation for students. It has indeed many advantages: rent is low (400 euros in Paris, 200 euros in other regions) with the possibility to benefit from rental assistance from the French CAF (family allowance fund). However, given the number of accommodation available, all applications cannot be granted. International students may check all offers available, including from private landlords, on lokaviz, the student accommodations hub developed by the CROUSes that guarantees to have a devent and safe accommodation.
