Ranking 2023 of masters in Management of the Financial Times: the wide leap of French schools
Almost all French schools increased their mark in the FT Masters in Management ranking, and the leader is French! Three schools are now in the Top 5: HEC in the lead, followed by ESCP and ESSEC (4th and 5th). In total, with 4 French schools in the Top 10, 21 schools are awarded in the Top 100.
The FT international ranking of Masters in Management is one of the most expected rankings, and it was finally released on 10 September. The ranking was first released in 2005, and this 19th version closely analysed a record number of 142 programmes this year vs 135 in 2022. It is based on a number of “strict criteria”, including graduate salaries, internationalisation of the school and mobility of graduates, achievement of training objectives and return on investment, using two surveys, one of schools and the other of alumni.
France, the most represented country
With 21 schools represented, France is once again the country with the most Masters in Management in the FT 2023 ranking.
As was the case last year, the Top 10 ranking includes four major French schools:
- HEC Paris moves up one place to the top of the podium. As the Financial Times points out, “some 186 points separate the best-performing programme at HEC Paris from the school ranked 100th”;
- ESCP Business School also moved up one place to 4th position;
- ESSEC Business School also moved up one place to 5th position;
- emlyon Business School completes the Top 10 in 7th position, moving up two places.
21 French schools out of 100
In addition to the four schools in the prestigious Top 10, nine additional schools feature in the Top 50. They are:
