The French Teach: when art schools reach out to refugee students

All audiences

Why study in France? Which field should you choose? And what’s the special spark that makes studying in France so unique?
Welcome to The French Teach, the brand-new podcast by Campus France that dives into the world of French academic excellence. In this episode, we look at France's long tradition of welcoming artists in exile.

French art schools have a long tradition of welcoming artists in exile. In recent years, they have been no exception to this rule. All over France, teachers and universities are mobilizing their networks to welcome artists from all parts of the world, so that they can continue their artistic reflection despite the upheavals in their countries of origin. What are the experiences of refugee students at French art schools? And what is the impact on their art and the art of those who meet them?
