#ErasmusDays: three days to know everything about the Erasmus+ programme
From October 14th to 16th, higher education institutions and students who benefitted from international exchange, or students who want to try the adventure, are invited to participate in the #ErasmusDays, a celebration organised in France, in Europe and everywhere in the world.
Since 1987, date of its creation, the Erasmus and Erasmus+ programmes have been an opportunity for more than 10 million young people to discover Europe, discover new cultures and gain or share knowledge. Erasmus Days are an opportunity to celebrate this success and bring together the community of students during festive, cultural and associative events. For the Erasmus+ France Agency, major organiser of this event in France, it is “an unmissable celebration”, and an opportunity for young Europeans to “celebrate locally the tangible benefits of Europe and share their successful international experience”.
2021: a transition year
In 2021, year of transition and launch of the Erasmus+ programme for the 2021-2027 period, the Erasmus Days aim at creating value for “the four priorities of the new programme: inclusion, sustainable development, digital sector and active participation to democracy”, according to the organisers.
The first objective of these days is to inform students about the opportunities offered by Europe in education, training and solidarity. In 2020, over 5,000 events will be held in 84 countries, allowing Erasmus+ beneficiaries, European stakeholders or former students of the programme, to share their experience or present their projects.
Everything about Erasmus+
The Erasmus+ scheme is indeed an exchange programme allowing European students to study in universities in another country, complete internships in a company or participate in volunteer actions in European associations. The programme enjoyed a growing success and gradually gained a major place in all Member countries of the European Union. According to the European Commission, “Erasmus is present in almost all universities and is the first exchange programme chosen by students”.
Erasmus Days are the perfect opportunity to obtain information about a study or training project abroad. Over three days, this event offers dedicated spaces to discover the Erasmus+ programme and exchange with alumni. Since all stakeholders of the Erasmus+ programme (higher education and training institutions, companies, research centres, employment agencies, organisations and NGOs) are free to organise any type of event, hundreds of activities organised in France are included in the programme: exhibitions, concerts, contests, seminars, networking, open days, digital meetings, and more.
