Rencontres Campus France 2020: Europe under the spotlights
From 16 to 18 November 2020, Campus France organised the 19th Rencontres Campus France, a key event for university cooperation. This year, the event puts the spotlights on Europe.
The must-see event for university cooperation
Every year, Campus France organises the “Rencontres Campus France” (Campus France Meetings) in partnership with the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation and the conferences of institutions (CPU, CDEFI, CGE).
This not-to-be-missed event brings together diplomatic missions and Campus France Offices from about sixty countries, French higher education institutions and research organisations, as well as the main partners of the Campus France Agency.
This event provides a unique forum for dialogue to promote the attractiveness of French higher education and research internationally.
The Rencontres Campus France 2020 took place from 16 to 18 November, with the participation of Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and Frédérique Vidal, Minister for Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
Europe under the spotlights
Campus France has joined forces with Agence Erasmus + France to build this new edition of the “Rencontres”. While the start of the academic year in 2020 has shed light on the first consequences of the health crisis, the Rencontres Campus France were a privileged moment for exchange between the various stakeholders in university cooperation and fostered the development of reflections and action plans to improve student mobility. Already foreseen before the health crisis, the theme of Europe takes on its full meaning as it is so important to revalue the European space, and with it France, as a study destination in order to place it at the heart of the revival of international student mobility.
100% virtual meetings
Given the restrictions due to the health context, the Rencontres Campus France 2020 were organised this year in a new, 100% digital format. These three days focused on the following topics:
- 2000 online meetings between representatives of French higher education institutions and representatives of the cultural services and Campus France Offices of the French embassies;
- 40 webinars on topics related to Europe, university cooperation with invited countries and the current dynamics of student mobility.
Registration for this event is now closed.
