My internship helped me understand how French companies operate
fter graduating in 2008 with a degree in international economics from the Siberian State University in Novosibirsk, Russia, I decided to pursue my education by getting a master's in strategic and international management at Université Paris Ouest-Nanterre la Défense (Paris X).
Now I'm growing in a new international context: the francophone context.
Why France? France attracted me not only because of its rich cultural and historic heritage, but also because of the very high quality of its higher education system. Having earned an economics degree in Russia, I knew that Franco-Russian economic relations were developing quickly. So I decided to deepen my knowledge with a French master's in strategic and international management.
Because of the friendly university environment, I adapted immediately, running into people from all over the world. At the same time, my program, which was taught using advanced management and marketing methods, and the solid assistance I got from my professors, made it easy for me to find an internship in a French luxury-goods company that fit perfectly with my academic program.
The internship has enabled me to understand how French companies operate—from their policies to their moving parts—and to appreciate all of the problems associated with international trade. I would like to use the knowledge and professional experience that I've gained in Europe to participate more actively in international business development—especially Franco-Russian business.
I would not have been able to turn my plans into actions without the amazing Campus France team that helped decide on my direction, choose the right program, gain admission to the University of Paris, and take the first steps in my professional career.
