Open to any field of research, the PRESTIGE programme encouraged the mobility of French and foreign researchers, from and to France. It cofinanced their French hosting/sending institution and thus helped fund their research project.
This project has received funding from the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration and it was coordinated by Campus France. The PRESTIGE programme supported the international mobility of researchers to and from France. It was co-financed to the amount of nearly 6 million euros by the European Union via the Marie Curie actions. Launched in 2014 for 5 years, 294 researchers (60,5% men and 39,5% women) from 44 nationalities were awarded a PRESTIGE co-financing grant.
The PRESTIGE programme awarded co-financing grants to the French hosting/sending institutions and thus supported the salary of the researchers recruited within the framework of the programme. In order to successfully carry out their recruitment, Campus France established a database composed of almost 3000 worldwide experts. In total, 15 calls for applications were launched throughout the duration of the PRESTIGE programme. Some 100 French higher education and research institutions were involved in the programme’s implementation.
